My camp experiences began the summer before my ninth grade year in high school when I was invited to a camp in south Arkansas by one of my friends. In the week spent there I was overwhelmed with comfort and joy from being there and just being around people who wanted to have type of fun that was new to me. It was a year later at that same camp that I gave my life to Christ and was baptized. Since then camp has always held a special place in my life.
I was first introduced to Camp Solgohachia by a friend from church who suggested that I apply as a high school counselor for a couple of weeks. Since then I’ve worked one summer as a part time counselor and three as an all summer counselor. In my time at Solgohachia I have seen God move in incredible ways in the lives of the campers I’ve gotten to experience a week of life with, the counselors that I’ve served with, and my own life. I look forward to seeing even more amazing things happen this summer, and all the ways that God has for his people to grow and for new people to find Him.
